Who are we?

The AgriSciencer is a platform for the discussion of agricultural science that is particularly relevant to the farming industry of New Zealand. 

The two co-founders are Dr Isabel (Izzy) Vialoux and Dr Rhiannon (Riri) Handcock. Isabel is employed at the School of Agriculture and Environment at Massey University, Palmerston North and Rhiannon is employed part-time at the AL Rae Centre for Genetics and Breeding, Massey University, Hamilton and part-time at the Helical Company Ltd.

What do we do?

We take the most relevant scientific research articles and remove the science jargon to create summaries that get the key messages out for industry. 


We do the hard work for you! This makes keeping up to date with the latest research easy as pie. 

 

Where available, we also provide the links to the abstracts and/or full journal papers, so you can get all the nitty gritty details.

What do we write about?

Our dairy section comprises of research related to the dairy industry, including: milk production, mastitis, artificial insemination, replacement heifer rearing and dairy management.

Beef cattle in NZ

We also cover research in other farming categories such as nutrient management, soils and beef production.
